We flew Biz class Cathay Pacific from Bangkok to Hong Kong (about 2.5 hours) and it was a comfortable flight with decent meal service and a reclining seat (not lie flat). We took the Airport Express Train from the airport to Kowloon station (about $9 each) and then a taxi to the Intercontinental Hong Kong (about $7) on the waterfront. The hotel is an older hotel, but is in a good location in Tsim Sha Tsui near great shopping and restaurants, and it has great views of the famous Hong Kong waterfront and skyline. The service is excellent as well.
We had drinks at the Lobby Bar/Lounge and the views were awesome:
We then walked to a local restaurant for dinner and saw more of the waterfront on the way back:
We spent just one night in Hong Kong before boarding our flight back to LAX to end our Thailand adventure. We continued on the 2nd leg of our Cathay Pacific Biz class flight (our time in Hong Kong was less than 24 hours so since we were using AA miles for this trip, they allowed it). We used the Biz class lounge and enjoyed the noodle bar (yum!) options – wonton noodle soup and dim sum. Our flight in Biz was comfortable in lie-flat seats, with good service and good entertainment options on screen.
Hong Kong was short and sweet and it was so much fun to finally be able to experience Thailand on this trip! Kap-kun-ka Thailand – I have a feeling I will be seeing you again very soon.
