After a lovely time in Paris, we took a 10 min. taxi to Paris Nord Eurostar Station and arrived about 30 minutes before we were supposed to depart. Unfortunately because we needed to go through the long security lines, we missed our train and had to take the next one 2 hours later. We finally boarded the Eurostar (tickets about $70 each booked months in advance) for the 2 and a half hour ride under the English Channel to London St. Pancras Station. This train was pretty full, and not as comfortable as the Italotreno from Venice to Florence.
We then took a taxi to the last hotel of our European Adventure – the Andaz Liverpool. We were upgraded to a suite and given a bottle of wine as Diamond Status guests.
We had yet another lovely breakfast in a gorgeous restaurant at the Andaz the next morning…
We took one of those sweet London cabs to the airport (about $190) because we didn’t have enough time to take the Heathrow Express. At London Heathrow, we relaxed in the First Class lounge and did a little shopping before boarding our flight back home to Los Angeles via Chicago… it was great to be able to sleep on those lie-flat seats during the transatlantic portion of our flight.
What an incredible, luxurious time G and I had during our European Dream Trip! Travel is addicting, and I am already planning my next four trips… yay!
